In Creative Writing, we read an assortment of personal reading books for silent reading. Below, you can see all of the books I have chose to read, and my thoughts on each.
"The Road"- Cormac McCarthy
The Road is an interesting read. The story takes place in a post apocalyptic world (which I
love) with a father and his son trying to survive. The first thing I noticed reading this is that the dialog.
The dialogue is absent of all quotation marks which makes it a little challenging to know who is talking when. But it makes me curious to know why the author went for this.

"The Final Day" - William R. Forstchen
The Final Day is yet again, another post apocalyptic story (I must have a problem) taking place after all electricity is removed from the world by a massive EMP (electromagnetic pulse). America tries to rebuild itself while people rebel against the countries decision to give parts of the country to other countries (Mexico and China specifically). It is a great story regarding rebuilding and working together with thrilling elements as well.

"Spontaneous" - Aaron Starmer
Spontaneous might actually be my favorite so far. It's not a post apocalyptic story, but it is a story about high school-- and people explode. Yep, that's right, the story literally is about spontaneous combustion. It is pretty humorous and defiantly not for children, but I would recommend it because it reminds me of Perks of Being a Wallflower and Heathers.
